JWK Safaris works with local communities in and around our citing concessions to ensure that ranger teams have the kit they need to do their job. In the last decade, more than 1,000 rangers worldwide have lost their lives in the line of duty, yet they often don’t have the basic equipment they need to protect the animal populations they are trying to safeguard.

Through providing the best basics – like good quality shoes, backpacks and accommodation – we make sure rangers have the best chance to stay safe and protect wildlife.

Poaching has become much more organised over the years, and the monetary reward has increased tremendously. Poachers now make use of the best technology and they are often heavily armed. 

They use helicopters and have a lot of assistance available should they need any help. More and more people are getting involved with poaching due to the financial incentive. Therefore rangers should be well trained and have the necessary equipment to protect the animals.
